I get through the first few chapters and have to force myself to continue. I just finished reading this book, which was written by a Saudi woman, based on stories of her girl friends in Saudi Arabia. Girls of Riyadh, eller Banat al-Riyad, är en roman av Rajaa Alsanea. Girls of Riyadh, or (Banat Al-Riyadh) as it is better known in the Arab world is quite frankly, one of most intriguing books I have ever read so far. It was highlighted in this weekend's FT Magazine. I love reading, but as of late I've had bad luck with books. Rajaa AlSanea, a college aged Saudi girl, wrote a book called The Girls of Riyadh some time ago. Imagine a book that tells the tale of four girls' lives, loves and losses. The setting is in the city Riyadh of Saudi Arabia. There's something to be said for an interesting cover: one of the biggest reasons that I initially bought this book was the fact that it's cover is so interesting. Girls of Riyadh by Rajaa Alsanea.
